While like most fashion trends, this phenomenon is nothing new (considering how Geena Davis went for a dress with baseball stitching for A League of Their Own in 1992, Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning embraced looks that perfectly went with their characters in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in 2019, and Zendaya killed it in a custom cobweb dress for Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021), it hit the sky with Margot Robbie’s Barbie press tour and Zendaya’s looks promoting Dune and Challengers lately.
